Pitt Academic Calendar 2023 – GREENSBOROW, NC (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Tuesday a new football scheduling model that will take effect through the 2023 season.

The new model is based on a 3-5-5 structure, with each team playing three major rivals each year and facing the other 10 teams in the league twice in a four-year cycle, once at home and once away. The schedule allows each team to face all 13 conference opponents at home and at least once during the four-year cycle. The structure was approved today by the league's athletic directors and faculty athletic representatives.

The new schedule will eliminate the Atlantic and Coastal divisions, with all 14 schools competing in the same division starting in 2023. The top two teams in conference winning percentage will compete in the Subway ACC Football Championship on the first Saturday in December at Bank of America. Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. In May, the NCAA Division I Board of Governors approved repealing the current rule limiting the autonomy of individual conferences to determine participants in the football championship game.

Pitt County Schools Among Group Getting $400,000 For Afterschool Grant

The funding will go to the 21st Century Community Learning Center, which offers children from low-income families or low-performing schools additional opportunities for education and growth.

The grant will expand first- and second-grade after-school provision to six more schools in the district. The school district says its goal is to offer the after-school program at all K-5/K-8 schools by the 2022-2023 school year.

PCS announces that students will be selected for the program in September based on benchmark scores and other criteria.
