Pitt 2023-24 Academic Calendar – GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Tuesday a new football scheduling model that will begin with the 2023 season.

The new model is based on a 3-5-5 structure in which each team plays three primary opponents a year and faces the other 10 league teams twice in a four-year cycle, once at home and once on the road This schedule allows each team to face 13 conference opponents at home and away at least once in a four-year cycle. The league's athletic directors and faculty athletic representatives approved the framework earlier today.

The new schedule will eliminate the Atlantic and Coastal divisions, where all 14 schools compete in the same division starting in 2023. The top two teams by conference winning percentage will compete in the Tunnel ACC Football Championship Game at Bank of America on the first Saturday in December. In May, the NCAA Division I Council approved an amendment to the existing rule that limits the autonomy of individual conferences to determine their football championship game participants.
